LOL: The improvement to the Wild Rift rankeds that I would like to see in League of Legends
Although Riot Games did not invent the qualifying items, League of Legends was the first game to convert them into the touchstone face to its long-term survival. A system that rewards players for playing well and that ensures items as equal as possible thanks to the MMR system. However, as time has passed, there is a certain sensation of stagnation with respect to its possibilities.
The improvement to the Wild Rift ranked that I want in LOL
One of the great problems of the League of Legends qualifiers system is progression. The ranked should be the game mode that more rewards the players for their continuous dedication, but the psychological prize to upload posts only when we have a peak and come accompanied by evident punishments when we have a bad streak. They are immovable rules to preserve competitive integrity, but to which Riot Games has found solutions in the mobile game.
The developer is taking many and very good decisions in his title for IOS and Android devices and the latter has been the creation of a new rewards system that will arrive at patch 2.6. These will include a free pass that will allow us to win prizes constantly that we can redeem in a new special store that includes cosmetics (more symbolic than valuable) that we can equip our characters to show our dedication to the game.
The ultimate goal is to prevent the mode from becoming a constant final sprint to reach the gold rank in recent days and get the Skin that has been established as a reward in the competitive season in question. A very interesting way to make the process of playing rather than more satisfying qualifying games. Idea that, no doubt, could be perfectly applied to League of Legends and with which Riot Games has experienced in the past without getting great results.
Why would it be an improvement for League of Legends?
How many times will I have not dedicated all the afternoon of Sunday to play qualifying games just to finish with a record with the identical number of victories and defeats. It is clear that I fulfilled my goal of making fun the most bored day of the week and that I have not lost time. However, we have all felt some frustration after a long game session in which we see that our total gain of league points is barely reached by two or three units.
All we have to compensate for this continuous effort are a few icons we receive at the end of each Split competitive and very unsatisfactory rewards by leveling level. In this way, a few improvements that make the effort always serves something could make the set something more satisfactory on a personal level and, above all, much less frustrating individually.
With a full rework to the personalization system of our account, it seems that Riot Games will soon give more weight to these continuous unlocks in the qualifying items. However, why not take one step beyond and take example from Wild Rift to improve the original League of Legends?
